Hey there, My name is Sean East and I wanted to make a page dedicated to Skyridge Christian Youth Camp.
Skyridge was located in the Lincoln National Forest and was built in the early 1960s. It was owned and operated by the members of Sunset Church of Christ in Carlsbad ,New Mexico. Being born and raised in Carlsbad, my family and I would attend family camp every summer. When I reached the age of 8 years old, I began attending the youth camp sessions. I attended 10 sessions in all as a camper, and after that, was fortunate enough to become a counselor for 5 years(30 weeks!!)
On May 12th 2000, we lost Skyridge to the 'Scott Able' wildfire. Words can't explain the loss that I , along with so many others, experienced when we heard the tragic news.
I wanted to make this site for anyone who ever attended or visited Skyridge and urge them to contact me about any  memorable experiences they may have had .If you know anyone who has attended- Please let them know about this website!!
I have tons(literally!!) of photos  from past sessions(1992-1997)-let me know if you want to see certain ones!! Also, If you have pictures that you can email to me, I will post them!!
Take care and God Bless!!!

This is a poem from the Sunset Bulletin:
(I don't know who the author is)
THE MOUNTIAN TOP
There are so  many mountian tops around me as I gaze,
But one is much more special than all inside this maze.
There's something on the mountian top not found in all the rest,
And if you'd look real closely, you'd know why it's so blest.
It's filled with love and laughter, with singing, praying, sharing,
And God, somehow is listening, His light upon it glaring.
For here upon the mountian top arrayed with beauty and life,
Are souls that come to worship God, regardless of their strife.
And if some stranger going by, in search of God, did stop,
Then he would surely find Him, upon the mountian top.
Which one, my friend, you're sure to ask why,Skyridge Camp, of course.
The spirits there all gather strength with God as their main source.
Added another page of Melinda's photos. Please chime in on the Guestbook and/or the Message Boards!! Thanks for stopping by!!
