Dream Aria - In The Wake (2005)
I am giving away my age with this one, but what the hell! I was born in the 1950's which makes me a child of the 60's, and to my thinking, the word "Diva" always conjured up one thing, a classy lady with a great voice. It saddens me to see what has been passing for diva's these days, but that changed when I found Dream Aria!
Deliciously different, Dream Aria features vocalist Ann Burtsyn, who'se voice will send cold shivers down your spine! A musical collaboration of Burstyn, Don Stagg and Jozef Pilasanovic, Dream Aria seemlessly blend edgy rock with classical, opera, world and soul sounds. Following the rhythm of a different drum, Dream Aria have created a whole new sound with their debut CD "In The Wake". Drawn from a musical scrapbook that is instantly recognizable, yet completely new, they have created something that is unique in it's strength, beauty and imaginative musical approach.
This isn't your typical collection of tunes. Every cut challenges the listener to close their eye's, and let their imagination run wild, carried by the melodic power of Burstyn's voice, and driven by the flawless nature of the music.
A refreshing change, this is music for the ages and a tonic for the soul. If you are tired of mainstream pop pablum, then Dream Aria is what you need! It is music with a purpose, performed by tallented artists for whom the music is more important than the image. That alone makes "In The Wake" a must hear for any real music fan!
