| Hello again. We are in a bit of a transition period as we approach our appointment with Dr. Elliot on Thursday. Christy is easing her way off of the prescription pain medication. Being off of the medicine for 24 hours (in addition to feeling up to it) is a requirement for her to be able to drive again. I think she's probably looking at sometime time this weekend before she's ready to try that. She wants to be able to get out even if it's just to take Damon back and forth to school. I think that it will help her to be able to ease back into some parts in her normal routine. Her routine of late has been pretty vanilla - migration between the bed, bathroom, dining room table, and couch. This evening, she decided to take our little dog Suzie out for a walk. Suzie is about 10 years old and pretty easy going so she makes a good walking buddy for someone who's making their way back into activity. They didn't go far - just down the street a couple of houses and back, but she was able to get out. Our other dog, Rocket, is a rowdy younger boy, but when he settles down, he likes to take a nap with his "mama". I've never seen a dog that knew what to do when you say, "Do you wanna take a nap?" He just gets all excited and prances (yes, prances!) down the hall to the bedroom, right up onto that bed. Damon's cough is still hanging on a little bit, but he's doing a lot better. He had a nice present for Christy when he got home yesterday. Amidst the all that was going on last week, he had his first Latin test on Thursday. We were very proud of him when he came home with a big fat 'A' on it. I've returned to work this week, and that has helped me regain a bit of my sanity - although those that work with me might dispute that I ever had any to begin with! ;-) Everyone has been great with their words of encouragement and offers to help with what we need. We will need all of you before it is all said and done. It means a lot to know that you are there for us. Here's a special shout out to my team. You guys are the best!
