Today is a day of hope.  I received a call from Dr. Elliot this morning, and he had the initial pathology report on the lymph nodes that they removed on Wednesday - all negative for cancer! Needless to say this is exciting news, but we are taking it in stride.  This was just an overall "glimpse" type of test - and there are additional, more in-depth tests still under way, and we will have the final pathology results on Thursday.

Christy has started to get a little adventuresome.  She made the slow journey up the stairs this morning to check her e-mail.  Many of you received the message that she typed with one finger.  I saw how long it was, and I can tell you if I had been using one finger it would have been a lot shorter!

She also went outside for the first time since Wednesday.  She walked a letter out to the mail box across the street.  Other than stepping off of the curb, she didn't feel any additional pain in the process.  Overall, the pain is starting to lessen.

Most of you know that I work for Southwest Airlines, and you may also know the reputation that Southwest has as an employer.  I have always enjoyed working there, but we experienced some special LUV yesterday.  Some of the folks there have been following our journal, and they saw that we were running into problems with our cell phone minutes.  One of my co-workers showed up at our door yesterday after work with a stack of 60 minute calling cards for us to use.  That was exactly what we needed.  We can now call people during the day wherever they may be and not have to worry about running up our cell phone bill.  Yes, the Spirit of Southwest is alive and well.
