| Hey Everyone ! This will be very short and to the point......I only have my left hand to type with right now, so I don't have long until my hand wears out. For those who don't know, Damon and I were in a car accident a couple of weeks ago. Lady pulled out in front of us, and we broad sided her going about 35-40. Our part of the wreck was head on - and we hit her squarely in our Nissan Xterra. Damon (of course) was in the back seat with his seatbelt on, and suffered only minor bruises. He's totally back to normal now. Having been driving, etc - I took the brunt of the wreck. I suffered severe bruising to the ribs, abdomen and hips from the seatbelt - which are all healing now......but looked pretty nasty earlier. Somehow, I shattered my right pinky and part of the joint that joins with the hand. No surgery - as of right now - but the final determination is still to be made on that. My sternum is fractured in 2 places, and the bone scan I had on Friday shows bone damage in 2 places in the ribcage. No Dr. clarification yet, but we can pretty much bet I've got a couple of broken ribs. I'm healing, albiet slowly - and slower because I've started Chemo again - so it will be a longer process than usual. Looks like Physical Therapy will be in the works in the future, too. The car was totalled (no big surprise) - but we got the new Minivan that we were going to get next year - just a year earlier. I'm loving it ! (Nissan Quest) That bumper to bumper "every possible kind of crash" 5-star safety rating played a big role in this purchase!! Had my first of my last 3 chemo treatments this past week. They treated me daily all week last week, and I started feeling it on WED. By Fri night I was in a bad way! I was really bad all weekend.......but seem to feel much better today - maybe the worst is over. No nausea - yea! Just EXTREME FATIGUE. I spent all but 2 -3 hours yesterday in bed. And when I was up, I wasn't "really here". This was the last treatment that Damon will see - so as far as he's concerned, we're DONE ! He'll be at his Dad's house after school lets out until my last treatment is done - for his summer visitation. I have quite a bit of hair. If I was more comfortable with short hair, I would probably go without the hats - but I'm not quite comfortable with it yet......definitely NOT bald anymore. It does continue to come in BLACK.....JET BLACK (where it's not grey!) I have ALOT more grey - but I can fix that with a little bottle!!!!!! I'm too young to have this much grey - they did tell me that chemo will bleach the color from your hair - so alot more grey is very common. Too short to tell if it's going to be it's natrally curly self or if it's going to be straight. I have eyebrows now, and SHORT eyelashes - they're still filling in. They said that I should not lose my hair during these last treatments. HOPEFULLY NOT!! I've got too much growing time invested. 1 DOWN,2 to go. SO FAR, these particular drugs are not as dreadful as the first set was....maybe I can get thru these last two with some dignity intact. Have a good day. . . . . Christy |
