LAST TREATMENT !!!!!!
(Chemo, Radiation, EVERYTHING!)
Hey!
My head looks like his !
Hey Everyone !

YES, You read it correctly !   I'm starting my
VERY LAST TREATMENT on Monday (tomorrow).  I will be treated all week, and then I'm done on FRIDAY.

I will most likely start feeling bad mid-week, and over the weekend.  However, the track record with this particular medicine shows that I
should be up and running (albiet slowly) by the following Monday (July 4).

Damon is back at his dad's house following a week here at home. . . . . and he is scheduled to come home Tuesday, July 5 (as long as MOM is ready).  Then he will be "home for good" onto a normal visitation schedule.

We should all then be starting what we call a "normal" life. I'll probably still be tired for a couple of weeks, but each day should get better and better . . . "forever", as Damon says.

My head now has a certain likeness to
sandpaper.  The hair is starting to come back slowly.  It should start to grow much faster following this last treatment.  We'll see what color it is this time. . . . . Damon's vote is for GREEN.    *Sigh*

I have appointments scheduled with my surgeon in September.  At that point he will direct me to another surgeon to do my RECONSTRUCTION surgery.  I will schedule that in October after Damon's Fall Break from school.  (We're going on a family VACATION with him then, so we don't want to interfere with that!)

My hand is still healing. . . . . when I last saw the Doctor, he said that the XRay shows only 3 weeks worth of healing when I've been in the cast for 7 weeks.  This Chemo has really slowed down my healing process.  He has allowed me to "graduate" to a removeable cast - he wants me in a cast because the bones haven't healed enough to be out of it, but he has to let me move my hand in other areas or it will grow too stiff to recover from, and I might lose some movement in my hand at that point.  He was stuck between a rock and a hard place - we'll see how things are when I go back to him on July
5.

Philip and I are hoping to get away for a long weekend to the Northern California area - the wine country.  I don't know if we'll be able to fit it in before school starts or not - but we're going to try.    If not, we'll schedule it for later in the year or early next year.  We'll just have to see how things pan out.

THANKS to everyone for all your prayers, cards, letters, phone calls and support - you've all been wonderful through this thing.

I'll continue to keep this website updated through my final surgery and recovery, and then I think I'll put this on the shelf along with all my other "cancer-related" stuff. . . . . I want to move on at that point.  The surgery will wrap up this chapter in my life, and I think I need to cut it lose and move on.

Until next time!
