Not much going on here - just wanted to throw a post up here.
I'm still feeling GREAT ! I've had so much energy ! Although I'm no where NEAR where I am on a "normal" basis, I have alot more that I have had in a while. Over this Radiation Break, I've been able to get my flowers planted (with the help of a friend!), get some new drapes put up in the living room, and paint (just the bottom half of the wall) and put up a wallpaper border in the Hall bathroom. I was so EXCITED !
I've been milking it for all it's worth! I know this is coming to an end rather quickly, and I wanted to make sure I got what I could out of it. . . .and I definitely did.
My hair continues to grow. The grey that I was so worried about has filled in with quite a bit of DARK hair. (it's VERY salt and pepper right now!) We can't tell if it's just a really dark Brown, or if it's Jet Black. I do know that I have lost ALL of my RED. (I was born with dark brown hair, but when I had Damon, I gained ALOT of Red, and it turned out to be a deep auburn.) I'm curious to find out if it went back to the "original" color, or if it went even darker! We'll just have to wait and find out. It is filling in very thick - which I'm glad of . . . I've had very thick hair all my life, and I didn't want to lose that!
Just a *few* SPECIAL people out there have been able to get a glimpse of my fuzzy head - it's pretty funny!
Well, I'm on my LAST WEEK of Radiation - it ends on Thursday. I have had NO side effects (other than a "sunburn" without the pain) from the treatments.
I will begin Chemotherapy Treatments on Monday, MAY 9. This time, each treatment will last an entire week. Monday is 4-5 hours, Tuesday - Friday are 2-3 hours each, and then the treatment is done. I will then continue to suffer side effects, probably for about a week following the completion of the treatment. Then I will have ONE week "off" before it starts again on MAY 31 and JUNE 20. At this point, I'm DONE !
I saw my Surgeon today, and he said the breast where the surgery was done has completely healed, and has healed beautifully. He wants to see me in Early September, and he will set me up with a Plastic Surgeon to do my Reconstruction. (Which will be done in either Late September or early October).
Then we can close this chapter in our lives !!!!
Well, that's my update - I'll post more later when I have more information!
