Samhain |
Also known as the Feast of the Dead, the Samhain is the end of the Celtic year and a time of great revelry and introspection for Witches. Samhain marks the end of the harvest season when all is gathered in. It is at this time that the God symbolically dies so that he may be reborn of the Goddess and sustain life for His people. As the God crosses over to the other side, the veil between the living and the dead is at its thinnest. This makes for an excellent time to do divination and ask for advice from those gone before us. Samhain is also a time of remembering the ancestral dead. Make your plans for the coming year now and think of them often through the cold winter months. Take faith in the fact that the God is never fully gone from us, but merely making a journey on our behalf.
