Sekhmet

Sekhmet is the blessed Lioness. She is the dark sister of Bast and a Destroyer Goddess. Sekhmet is a powerful protector, provider and healer. It is said that when Ra released Sekhmet to destroy the wicked of the world, Her rage was almost unstoppable. Ra set out thousands of jars of beer that had been made red with mandrake root. Thinking it was blood, Sekhmet devoured it down and became drunk. Only then was her rage quieted. Sekhmet can have good qualities as well as bad. She is a powerful protector of Her own. She is Goddess of healers and bone setters. She may also be useful when dealing with diseases of the blood. Like the mother Lioness she will gently provide for her young and in the next instant be a bloodthirsty killer. Do not fear, for like Bast, Sekhmet will not act without provocation or just cause.
