A trip to Long Grove (Cute little shops, apple donuts, cider... a nice fall activity.)

A drive up Lake Shore Drive, Sheridan road, up to the B'hai Temple in Wilmette with it's beautiful gardens.

Art museum (The Art Institute of Chicago... has a great art collection and some interesting miniature rooms from throughout history.)
