Left, Louis Trudel, the patriarch of the Powers/Trudelle branch. Louis was a carriage maker and was born August 25, 1819 in Montreal and died February 11, 1881 in Waddington, NY. He was the father of John Raymond Trudelle who married Margaret Powers.
Right, Edwart Amundsen, the father of Alfred E. Emerson, born April 19, 1852 in Eiker, Buskerud, Norway, died November 11, 1930 in Chippewa Falls. Edwart sailed, at age 14, with his parents (Amund Amundsen and Caroline Maria Johannesdatter) from Drammen, Norway to Quebec (May 1 - Jun 9, 1866) aboard the bark Rhea. At age 28, he served one term as Register of Deeds for Chippewa County (1881-1882). Leading up to the election, he changed the family name to Emerson in 1880, perhaps because Emerson had a better "sound" to the local electorate. His daughter-in-law Mary Trudelle Emerson held the same office for four terms.
Above, Myrtle Emerson LeDuc, a sister of Mary Trudelle's husband Alfred Emerson, as a child in 1899.
