Willard Bunn Jr. was a son of Ruth Regan Bunn (Margaret Hanrahan, Mary Rose Hogan, Patrick and Johannah Hogan): Willard Bunn Jr. SPRINGFIELD -- Willard "Bunch" Bunn Jr., 88, of Springfield, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at his home. He was born Oct. 27, 1913, in Springfield, the son of Willard and Ruth Regan Bunn. He married Florence Smith in 1994 in Springfield. Mr. Bunn worked for Springfield Marine Bank, where he began in 1935 in the auditing department and was named president in 1961 and chairman of the board in 1974. He retired in 1989 and continued as chairman emeritus. He was a recipient of the Copley Press First Citizen Award, a long-term director for Illinois Bell Telephone Co. and a regional affairs director for U.S. Golf Association. He was an early supporter of Old Capitol Art Fair as well as the Marine Bank Student of the Year Program. He had a long involvement with SCADA. He was a member of St. John's Hospital Foundation and a long-standing member and treasurer of Abraham Lincoln Association. He was a past board member of Springfield College in Illinois and a board member of several other organizations. Survivors: wife, (private); two sons, (private) and (private);a daughter, (private); two stepsons, (private) and (private); a stepdaughter, (private); 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, (private); a brother, (private); and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass: 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Christ the King Catholic Church, the Rev. David Lantz officiating. Burial: Calvary Cemetery. Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
