Richard Andrew Hogan was a great-great-grandson of Patrick and Johannah through their son John, his son Patrick, and Patrick's son Gerald: Richard Andrew HOGAN Born August 21, 1913, in Powell River, B.C. Died September 9, 2000, at home, after a brave two-year endurance of pancreatic cancer. Beloved and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He had a way with words and a great wit that he kept to the end of his life. A proud graduate of Broadway High School, the University of Washington, and its School of Law, he spent his childhood in Aberdeen, Billings, and Port Townsend. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He briefly practiced law in Vancouver, WA before beginning a 40-year career in title insurance in Vancouver and Seattle. He was an executive with Washington Title Insurance Co. and its subsequent iterations. He was a past president of the Washington Land Title Association and served as its executive secretary for 23 years. He was a deacon and elder in the Magnolia Presbyterian Church. He leaves his cherished wife of 59 years, Joann; his daughter, (private) and granddaughter, (private); his son and daughter-in-law, (private), and his grandsons, (private). Memorial Services will be held Saturday, September 16, at 10 a.m. at the Magnolia Presbyterian Church, 3051 28th Avenue West.
