Mrs. John R. Ragan Dies

Lingering Illness Fatal to Widow of Prominent Merchant: Last Rites to be Held Wednesday Morning

Mrs. John R. Ragan, 70, wife of the late John R. Ragan who for many years was a prominent business man in this city, passed away at her home at 721 Eighth street north at about 6:30 o'clock Sunday morning following a lingering illness with a heart ailment.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, November 20, at 9:30 o'clock at the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church with Rt. Rev. Msgr. William Reding officiating. Interment will be made in Calvary cemetery. Pallbearers will be J. N. Reiland, Edward Philleo, Dan Arpin, J.C. Werle, Dr. F. X. Pomainville and Peter Reiland.

Mrs. Ragan was born at Oshkosh, Wis., on December 28, 1864, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hinterthuer. On Demember 28, 1887 she was united in marriage to John R. Ragan at Menasha.

She came to this city in 1903 with her husband, when he started in the furniture business here. Mr. Ragan preceded her in death on January 20, 1934, and their only son, Fred, died soon after on June 25, 1934.

She is survived by one daughter, Miss Marguerite, and one granddaughter, Clarice Ragan, of this city and three brothers, William and Charles Hinterthuer of Neenah and Louis Hinterthuer of Milwaukee.

Friends may pay their respects at the Ragan home beginning this evening and until time for the funeral, arrangements for which are in charge of Krohn of Berard.
