ANOTHER PIONEER GONE

Michael Hanrahan Died Suddenly Last Evening

Michael Hanrahan, father of Mrs. Charles Ragan and Mrs. Edward Patten died very suddenly last evening at the home of Mrs. Ragan, about 8 o'clock. He had been ill but a few days. Heart failure is believed to have been the cause of his death.

Mr. Hanrahan came to Chippewa Falls in the winter of 1859 and entered the employ of the Chippewa Falls Lumber company. In the spring of 1860 he located on 160 acres of government land in the Wheaton [sic] and to the death of his wife, some fifteen years ago made it his home. Since that time he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. C. T. Ragan in this city. He was a good citizen and neighbor and will be missed by a large circle of friends. He was 70 years of age.
