MARIE J. LAVELL
Marie J. Lavell, 78, of 811 W. Grand Ave., City, passed away suddenly at 10 p.m. on July 1.
She was born February 26, 1891 in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of James and Mary Powers Lavell. She attended Notre Dame schools and graduated from McDonell Memorial High School in 1911. She served as assistant office manager of the Chippewa Sugar Refining Company and as a member of the Chippewa County Welfare Department. During World War II she was associated with the Ration Board, and worked for the City of Chippewa Falls until her retirement.
She was a member of Notre Dame Parish.
Miss Lavell is survived by two sisters, Katherine and Esther Lavell and one brother, James, all of Chippewa Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Freddy in infancy, and Leo in 1948.
Funeral services will be held at Notre Dame Church at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 4. Interment will be in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Mason Weber Funeral Home after 4 p.m. on Thursday, with the Rosary being recited at 8 p.m. Thursday evening.
