Margaret Rosener Rites Held
Private funeral services were held during the weekend for Margaret H. Rosener, socially prominent Peninsulan and mother of famed artist Robert Motherwell.
Mrs. Rosener died Saturday at Stanford University Hospital after a long period of failing health. She was 79.
She was a member of the Francisco Club, the San Francisco Garden Club and the Menlo Circus Club.
She was first married to Robert Burns Motherwell II, who was president of the Wells Fargo Bank and Union Trust Company when he died in 1943. In 1946 she married Leland S. Rosener Sr., prominent San Francisco consulting engineer, who died in 1963.
Besides her son, who lives in Greenwich, Conn., Mrs. Rosener is survived by a daughter, Mrs. William Bosschart of HIllsborough, and by two sisters, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
