From the Springfield, Illinois State Journal-Register, November 6, 1997. John Bunn was a great-great-grandson of Patrick and Johannah through his mother Ruth Regan, her mother Margaret Hanrahan, and her mother Mary Rose Hogan:


John M. Bunn

John M. Bunn, 68, of Hilton Head Island, S.C., formerly of Springfield, died Oct. 30 at his residence.

He is the son of Willard and Ruth Regan Bunn Sr. He had been married to (private) for 39 years.

Mr. Bunn lived in Springfield most of his life, moving to Hilton Head in 1988. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War, and was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame in 1955. He was president of Bunn Capitol Co. and vice president of Bunn-O-Matic Corporation.

He was involved with the United Way, American Red Cross, Junior Achievement and the LPGA Rail Classic. He was also a member of Holy Family Catholic church and a former member of Illini Country Club, Sangamo Club and Island Bay Yacht Club.

Survivors: wife, (private); two daughters, (private) of Alpharetta, Ga., and (private) of Irmo, S.C.; a granddaughter; a sister, (private) of Delray Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Willard Bunn Jr. and George R. Bunn, both of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews.

Services: Memorial Mass, 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Blessed Sacrament Church, the Rev. Martin Mangan officiating. Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
