| In fact, Mary and Nellie Broderick have turned out to be the proof that we needed to establish a sibling connection between Mary O'Hearn Broderick Lennon and Bridget Ahern Hogan. Read what Kathleen has to offer: "My mother remembers my father talking about a Cousin Mary and Cousin Nellie, unmarried sisters, who used to come to his house for dinner when he was a young boy growing up in Spokane from about 1917-1930. He remembered them as being in the same generation as his parents and felt sure they were related to his father as they only came to the house on the rare occasions when my grandfather would return from prospecting in Orogrande near Grangeville, Idaho. These sisters lived together in a small house in back of a Catholic Church which they attended every morning before they went to work. They didn't have a car, so they walked to work. My dad remembered that at one time they worked together altering women's clothes for a store. At some point, Mary died and Nellie went to work for the railroad. My dad remembered that after that she developed a rolling gait when she walked because of the motion of the train as she walked through it serving food to the patrons. He remembered that all the children in his family were very fond of her." Here are two obituaries on Mary Broderick from 1925: BRODERICK, Mary -- S318 Stevens.
