After the airplane had disappeared from sight and I could no longer hear it -- apparently it was landing -- the cubes returned to their position near my window; their speed coming back was 20 or 30 mph. The total time elapsed for this maneuver was, I suppose, two or three minutes.
They were perfectly still now. Still in identical groups, the geometric shaped objects began to move up and down vertically. In the beginning of the movement, the entire group seemed to 'leap' five or six feet in the air. this 'bouncing' effect became more rapid. At each successive leap they gained altitude. On about the seventh or eighth vertical bounce they appeared to be close to the clouds. At this distance, the objects seemed to connect or mingle. There was a vivid white flash of light that illumined my dark room vividly. After this, much as when I first saw them, the objects disconnected and dropped slowly again within sixty feet of me. Then they paused briefly, still in perfect formation, floating in mid-air.
In a moment, the glowing entourage started away again, this time to the northwest. They started off slowly at perhaps two or three miles per hour for perhaps four or five seconds. I observed briefly the swarming, upward movement of the dark spots within the tubes, the pale, milky, slightly blue luminescence of the entire object, the dark things like upraised arms on the top corners of the cubes, the legs below. I suspected they were leaving. Another moment and they were moving as fast as a jet plane. In a fraction of a second, their speed increased to the vanishing point and they were obliterated in the far northwest horizon. Ascent on departure appeared to be about ten degrees. The velocity they attained was apparently faster than vision. Yet at no time had I seen any indication of fuel being consumed; no exhaust, no vapor trail.

If the cubes were not manned, how was the position of the plane known?
How was proximity to the building known?
How was exact flying formation established?
What was the purpose of contacting or 'merging' and the flash of light as they did so?
Were the varying bell sounds signals? Why the variance? Why bells?
Was the geometric shape of the cubes meant to convey a message?
Why were the two tubes of different heights, one being a third taller?
What was the purpose of the tapered 'legs' on four corners, top and bottom?
What were the black dots or spheres of agitated energy within the tubes?
Why were the light tubes located in the right side of the cubes?
Why was two thirds of each cube unoccupied?
What crystalline material were the cubes made of?
I will try to explain the meaning of the UFO which I saw in terms of the compatibility of two kinds of energy: the forces that operate beyond the visible spectrum of life and the forces that operate in the physical fabric of our world. These forces relate to the image of our existence and the origins of that existence.
Structure is all-important to us as human beings. Because we live with it and die with it, structure appears to define our existence. It is reasonable to conjecture that UFO appearing in cube form in a mathematical series has specific meaning that must be interpreted. It is, perhaps, the intent and purpose of an intelligence existing beyond our realm of knowledge that we make an attempt at such interpretation.
If determination of atom structure is dependent on understanding related numbers of particles in a series, it becomes significant that substance exists in series, either expelling or rejecting energy within the limits of that series.
If cell structure, as determined by the elctron microscope, involves a controlled flow of electrons through fixed atomic structures (as does the transistor), we must assume that the structure of life as it begins its existence is a rigid structure of specific dimensions, and is electronic.
But the depth of our electronic studies as we search the mysteries of the cell is only an initial gesture. The real depths are undisclosed. To see the hidden electronic structure of life, we must not only diagram the physical and project its energy and substance; we must also continue on 'outside' of the physical and diagram the 'ghost' principles of a world of energy that exists beyond human sensory apprehension. Yet if life and substance, the divided cell, and the component parts of an atom are the projected creations and images of a greater source of energy, there must be exact laws or mathematics that apply from the source.
We have already reached with our microscopes into the heart of substance. Now we must probe its soul. The design of life at its beginnings assumes certain forumlae that guide the geometry of all substance. If it is the initiative of intelligence to give us the blueprint of life, it is our responsibility to understand and interpret the design. The failure to understand the meaning of the design is the failure by human heart and mind to recognize and know the form of energy that is antecedent to life and substance; that is, to acknowledge in whatever form the existence of the spirit of life. Either we hide in fear or, in our ignorance, interpret falsely.
If we could channel the intelligence of our vision from microscope to microscope until we came to the beginnings of all structure in life, we would find ourselves confronted with the same equations, numbers, and particles that exist in the complex atoms and molecules. We would find that life's beginnings contain certain energy exchanges -- a balancing of forces.
