Sergeant Dominick Pilla was a comedian from New Jersey whose company was enjoyed by all. On the ground convoy behind an M-60 gun, Pilla was shot and killed instantly, hit in the head by a bullet. Pilla's death was devastating to the convoy which was heading back to base carrying the critically injured Blackburn.
