Major General William F. Garrison was the man in charge of the mission that took place on October 3, 1993.  He was a man who took things with precaution before each mission.  Garrison was one of the least-known important army officers in America, mainly due to the fact that the Task Force Rangers and Delta Force worked mainly in secrecy.  He was a very cynical guy who did things by the book.  On the day of the fatal mission, Garrison was distraught that things could go wrong after careful planning.  The battle destroyed General Garrison's career, and he took full responsibility of the battle's outcome in a letter written to President Clinton.
