Chief Warrant Officer Ray Frank was the copilot of Super Six Four, the second downed Black Hawk, sitting alongside pilot Mike Durant when their bird was shot down. Frank was knocked out for several minutes before waking up, realizing he had hurt his back for a second time. He was still recovering from an earlier Helo crash that had gotten him a crushed vertebrae and broken leg. After the D-boys got to the crash site, Frank pulled himself out of the wreckage. Durant later confessed that was the last time he saw Frank. He was killed by the mob of Somalis and was one of the bodies mutilated in the acts of the civilians.
