Message from Peanut
I'm Peanut, the little guy who had Parvo. You all saved my life, you know, and I'm very grateful. But I have a big problem now. A lady named Laura came and got me, and I stayed at her house for almost a whole week. It was okay there, but no one would play with me. I think it was a geriatric home for Chihuahuas and others, because they were all old, and laid around all day and slept. So then last weekend, Laura loaded me into that awful crate and packed up my little food bowl and my blankie
and my toys and bone and ball, and took me to meet my new foster mom, Lori!
Well, I just love it here -- there are other Chis to play with, and two very nice kids who don't grab me or anything, and lots of good food. My foster mom plays fetch with me (they taught me that at the vet's -- they used to take me out at night when it was slow and play fetch with me, and they even trained me to use a leash!) and my foster dad loves me a lot too. They keep telling me that no one is ever going to throw me away again, and leave me all alone to get sick.
So, you're probably thinking I'm a little ingrate for complaining, but wait. There's a great big problem, and it worries me so bad I can hardly sleep. That Laura person still owes $355 at the clinic where I stayed, and I'm so afraid they're going to come and take me away and make me live there until it gets paid off. I don't want to leave here until I go to my forever home! Do you think they'll do that? Or do you
think they will take that Laura person away and lock her up? Then she wouldn't be able to help boys like me who get sick.
It's all such a mess, I just don't know what to do. If any of you have any spare dollars lying around, I know that Laura person would be very surprised and grateful if you'd mail them to her. I'm going to give you her address again, just in case you do.
