About ...
Welcome !!! I have been using
UNIX for almost 5 years now, started off with Linux during the time of
kernel 2.0. I took great interest in improving my
UNIX & Linux skills,so i have a big collection of useful websites. During
my free time, i write unix shell scripts and monitor
system performance for tuning. I am currently working on a script to collect
server performance and plots it into graph using
Gnuplot. Starting from this week, I will also include a weekly UNIX tips
here -> AIX, Linux, Solaris & BSD Unix.
Shell Scripts*
After you have download the below script. change the permissions
of the file.
# chmod 700 <script.name>
- Samba script - Used
to start, stop or restart samba with user administration functionality.
- Check IP - Used
in DHCP environment, if there is a changed in IP address, it will
automatically inform the administrator of the change through email
- Display Clockspeed
- Display clockspeed for AIX based servers
UNIX Tips*
AIX
15th September 2002 - Workload Manager ( WLM )
IBM bundles Workload Manager ( WLM ) as part of the standard
OS Component in AIX 4.3.3 and AIX 5.1. WLM allows
you to control / manage the amount of CPU, Memory or I/O
resourced used by users / groups & applications based on shares.
WLM is part of this fileset --> bos.rte.control
Refer to my document here if you want to know how to setup
this up -->
