CAN'T TELL

At the bottom I see what seems to be
Beneath this well I continue to bleed
Should I know why I should be freed
Or is that what I really need?

I'll ask you once and beg you twice
Persistance seems to waste my time
So still I need to figure out why
Nothing really works for me

I'm getting sick of being so sick
I'm getting tired of being so thick
Don't you tell me what I see
Don't tell me what it means to me

I thought you'd heard all I said
But words to you were always dead
Maybe I think I should quit
But I don't seem to be ahead

I won't tell you why I needed to
Contradict my mind through your eyes
I can't tell you why I bled for you
Crack the smile of lies, don't even try

Some call it greed, some call it hate
I say I need but I can't wait
From what I see I don't betray
For you it seems so easy

You tell me yes but I don't know
You won't accept and I can't show
What is truth to you when
You don't really know me
When is fear a virtue if you can't deny
I won't tell a soul but then again I can't lie
You once said that you'd never hurt me
We'll see about the truth if the fire burns me

But I worry too much for someone to hate me
When the time comes I won't be distracted
All I have left is the rage that I've crafted
I'm getting too edgy to try to be shaken

I speak of my life that mistakes are mistakes
But that won't let me think I'll sit by and wait
It won't let me think, I won't tell you why
I can't tell you why
I won't tell a lie
I can't tell a lie
Because it's not mine
