AWAKEN THE LIE

Jaded and helpless
Lost and confused
Wounded and starving
From our own misuse
Weighed down and hopeless
Blind to the truth
Immobile and worthless
Inhibited by this self-abuse

Can't bear to see the reflection
Open these lies
Can you bring yourself to remove this disguise

What are you running from?
There is no danger
Distrust and become no one
To myself, a stranger?
I push me away from you
As I wish you near
I cover my head and
Keep begging you to hear

Overwhelmed and bombarded
With everything we fear
This disposition has been discarded
It's so alone in here
Fall into the last regression - I need to grow
When did we choose this obsession - I need to know
A loss of all perception - I need you to see
And this conviction will empower me

Look again and learn it's not so far
Emulate yourself it's where you are
Right here and right now it's all that ties
The design is binding you
Awaken the lie

So far away has been direction
So easily we found confusion
Undetected unexpected delusion
Once unaware of this intrusion
Discovery of what has receded
Is all that is necessary to believe
I've fallen so far but I'm still here
I'm over the bruises and done with the fear
Stressed the walls of stress built like brick
Mad and alert, anew and revived
Facing forward, centered by the verdict
I'm staying right here and nothing will move me

Shattered the false reflection
Opened these eyes wide
With my will I surrender this disguise

Look again and learn it's not so far
Emulate yourself it's where you are
Right here and right now it's all that ties
The design is binding you
Awaken the lie
Awaken your mind
Awaken, it's time
