| Billy was one of the pioneer Chinese toxicologists in the U.S. and one of the firsts who attended the Society of Toxicology annual meeting since the late sixty. Billy was one of the founders of the American Chinese Toxicology Society (ACTS) when it was organized. Since then, Billy had been exemplary to many young Chinese scientists by demonstrating his excellence in scientific research and immaculate integrity. His impeccable scientific integrity led him greater achievements as he advanced to become a research program manger in new company. Thereafter, he continued to make numerous important contributions in the field of inhalation toxicology. | ||||||||||||||
| For years, Billy yearned for an opportunity to nurture the next generation of young Chinese toxicologists. In 1995, his wish was realized. He was invited and became the Director of Pharmaceutical Research Department of the DevelopmentCenter for Biotechnology (DCB) in Taiwan. During his tenure at DCB he introduced the Good Laboratory Practice and Standard Operation Procedures of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. He succeeded in improving the animal facilities of DCB to become the only animal laboratory accredited by The American Association for Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care AAALAC) in Taiwan. Most importantly, he had trained young scientists in DCB some of whom are presently full member of the Society of Toxicology in the U.S. Thus, he had made substantial contributions to the toxicological science and research in Taiwan. Billy had always strived to do his best in whatever he was responsible until he fell gravely ill in 2003. | ||||||||||||||
| Billy's passing away is a great lost to the Chinese Toxicologist community. His colleagues will miss him. | ||||||||||||||
