| American Chinese Toxicology Society (ACTS) History |

| Prior to 1984, chinese toxicologists gathered informally at the Annual Society of Toxicology (SOT) Meetings. Drs. Basil Leong and Laurence Wong organized these dinner meetings. It was decided in 1984 at the Annual SOT Meeting in Houston, Texa that a formal organization be established and named the American Chinese Toxicology Society (ACTS). Additionally, in 1984, the Charter President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer were elected. The first ACTS Newsletter was pusblished by Dr. Chiu-Wing Lam. At the 1985 meeting, the By-laws drafted by Dr. Ho Chung were passed. The By-laws were last updated in 1993. | |||||||
