Virginia Yung Ka-Shui and Vivian Lee Ming-Wai

Perhaps the most talked about event of Miss HK 1997 was the love triangle between the winner Virginia Yung, first runner-up Vivian Lee, and James Wu, who is the owner of the Sea Horse Company, According to the press, Vivian claimed she will no longer sign with TVB after her contract, as she had become 'engaged' to James. However, shortly after Vivian's announcement, James had a change of heart and started dating Virginia instead. Virginia also broke up w/ her then boyfriend Lam Hau Kee to be with Jason. After this somewhat embarassing ordeal, they disappeared from the limelight, but the Miss HK reputation was hampered.

Virginia and James were married in early 1999 and had a baby boy Jason in September 2000. Since then, Virginia had been helping James with his business & raising their child. Vivian Lee has moved on and is (not surprisingly) dating someone of importance. It was somewhat sad, as during the 1997 pageant, Virginia and Vivian were quite close.

We all know that this story is true... so I just wanted to say a few comments that I was thinking when I heard this story. A few things could of happened.
1) James could of been two timing both ladys (although he doesn't look like he could pull that off...)
2) Maybe Vivian felt like she was losing James to Virginia and made a public speech hoping to keep her man (too bad it was humiliated afterwards).
3) Or maybe Virginia was the first women and took back what was hers (too bad the Hong Kong public thought she was the other woman).
Who knows which is true... but hey look that the bright side... at least they both went for a guy who was wealthy, unmarried, and young. Can't say that for some other MHK gold-diggers. Good Job!
