The pageant will take place this month ont 21st. The theme will be "Forever Colorful Chinese Beauty" (sorry, it's a rough translation). Awards will be Winner, 1st Runner Up, 2nd Runner Up, Miss Youth and Miss Friendship. After a makeover, 17 contestants from around the world met the press this afternoon . The 5 hot doors are #6 Bangkok, #7 Johannesburg, #11 Montreal, #12 Toronto and #17 Hong Kong. Youngest contestant being from Montreal.
#5 Seattle, #8 Singapore and #13 Lima became the focal point of the press conference for their figures. Many of the girls used poor Cantonese to introduce themselves. #8 Singapore even said she was 13 years old, when actually she is 23 years old.
#17 Hong Kong is confident. She said, "During Miss Hong Kong I told myself, you can lose anything but confidence you can not lose. You must try your best. You must not be affected by outside pressure. I have also gotten the contestants some crystal ball ornaments are a momento." When asked if she think she will win Miss Friendship award she responded, "No, this is justa gift and has nothing to do with friendship. I will however help teach them Cantonese."
#11 Montreal is the hot door of Chinese and French blood. However, she can not speak Cantonese. When asked if she this she will lose out by not knowing Cantonese she responds, "I am currently studying Cantonese, but English is the international language so I don't think I will lose out. I have confidence that I will do well."
This year the contestants will only go to Foshan as a location shoot on the 8th.
