Every time I read an article or online posting about Annie Chang, the author always seems to be fascinated by her. Since being announced as San Francisco's representative at the upcoming Miss Chinese International 2005, she's built up quite an online fan base and deservingly so I might add.

It's not hard to be captivated by the 5'6.5" beauty. Annie definitely has a natural presence on stage. One of the favorites for Miss Chinatown USA 2004, she took home the title of Miss San Francisco Chinatown. Coincidentally enough, she won the title of Miss Asian San Francisco at Miss Asian America the year before. Her last pageant will be Miss Chinese International 2005 in Hong Kong.

Wanting to be seen more as a role model than a beauty queen, Annie dedicates herself to helping a cause. She is a strong supporter of Asian American Cancer Support Network (AACSN). As a matter of fact, one of her goals of attending Miss Chinese International is to give the program more recognition. If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, there's no doubt you've seen Annie at one of her many events for the Asian American community.
When not at her full time job at Clear Channel, Annie producing events, organizing
and modeling for fashion shows, volunteering and doing community service. Most recently she produced "Black Out". "Black Out" was a fashion show to promote Asian Americans in Entertainment and a fundraiser to raise money for AACSN. A day before Annie leaves for Miss Chinese International, she will be attending another fund-raiser, one for the Tsunami victims.

Annie graduated from San Francisco State University with a Speech degree. Born in Taipei Taiwan, she moved to Maryland at the age of two and later to San Francisco to continue her studies. At 25, Annie has more opportunities than someone twice her age might have. She currently has plans to go to Law School, start a business and all this while still being involved with the Asian American Community.
Similar to her friend, Fala Chen, Annie's height would be great at any other year's competition, but many cities are sending tall contestants this year. However, Annie is a pageant pro, well-rounded, beautiful, smart and caring. She has a great chance of making it to the top 5, if not placing at Miss Chinese International. Annie would not be able to attend Miss Chinese International if it were not for her sponsors. Thank You to Calvin Louie CPA and Comcast Cable, who has sponsored Annie for all her pageants.
Annie is the perfect image of modern day Chinese women, and no doubt will make Americans Proud. Good Luck!
