| Quite A few members commented to me would you believe it, pastor, this year has gone by so fast. Yes, believe it or not, the end of the year and the Christmas season is here once again. The celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ is a time of well wishes, family gatherings, office parties, gift exchanges, holiday decorations, tree trimming, Christmas cards and greetings, Christmas caroling, and preparing our hearts for the coming of the Christ child. Recently, I read an article about ideas to simplify this holiday season. 1. Quiet down; set aside time for prayer, meditation or just relaxation. 2. Scale back your entertaining. 3. Think minimalist when it comes to decoration 4. Set a budget and stick to it. 5. Exercise - you will gain energy and shed stress. 6. E-mail your seasons greetings. May the peace of Christ enter your hearts as you seek to enjoy this holy season and to share the joy with others. Talking about the birth of Baby Jesus, Dee Yee made a wonderful announcement - she is pregnant with twins! Wow! Double joy for Dee & Eric Yee next year. No wonder Letty and Dan Lee (parents of Dee) are so happy. And Letitia and Yale Yee (parents of Eric) are full of thanksgiving. Besides Dees good news, Tune Toy, wife of Kenneth Toy, expecting too. Lanette Toy, grandmother-to-be, is well prepared. When you talk to her about her grandchildren, her eyes light up. One more note, Lanettes grandson, Cameron (baby of Tina and Rodney Toy) will be baptized on Christmas Sunday. Join all the above members of our church to give God the glory and be in prayer for them. Pray for the mothers-to-be, that they will have healthy pregnancies and smooth deliveries, and for the fathers-to-be that they will be supportive. May the Lord watch over them If you have not visited our churchs web site, please give it a try - www.geocities.com/chinesecongregational. Dick Hom spent many hours to create this informative site for our church. If you have anything interesting to share with the church family, you can do so online. The Chengs just want to wish all of you the blessings of Christmas and a joyous New Year. Joy To The World elebrate the Christmas! |
