"We're Back!"

Here we are Snooping on people again.  I guess you just can't keep a good Snoop down!  With the information super highway fully in operations, it was just a matter of time before Snoops began reappearing.  So here is Snoops for the 21st Century!

If any of you have little tidbits you would like to share in this column, be sure you drop us a note at
[email protected]. Not everything may be included, but every tidbit will be considered.  Well, here is the first column for the New Year

It looks like exciting things are in store for our church in the new year.  Heading up the Church Council for 2001 is Andy Poon.  His creative and enthusiastic nature will guide our church smoothly this year.  Way 'ta go, Andy!  As a side note, Larry Lew will be the Chairperson of the Deacons for 2001.  Andy & Larry....watta team!!

There must have been something in the water at the home of Dan & Letty Lee while the kids were growing up!  The news is (and it's official!)  Dee & Eric Yee will become proud parents this year.  Not only that......it will be twins........not only that......it will be girls!  Of course we all know that Dee's brother Cliff, had twins too.  Boy!  Talk about keeping it in the family!

Who said that web sites don't work?  Attending our Candlelight Service on Christmas Eve night were Bob and Florence who found our church through our web site.  They enjoyed the service and found it very lively and creative.  (Thanks to the high school Church School students with a little assistance from their teachers, Edmund Chu & Rita Poon).  We hope to see Bob and Florence at our regular worship services often.

Christmas caroling has always been a lot of fun.  It usually happens right after our Candlelight Service were we all bunch up in a rented bus and travel to members and friends homes to visit and sing.  Well, this year was something different.  Since Christmas Eve was on a Sunday, it was decided to stick around after our combined worship service and carol in Portsmouth Square prior to Candlelight Service.  As our Praise Team made music and members of our Chinese & English congregations sang hymns and told the Christmas story, many in the park, and just passing through, stopped to listen.  It was a wonderful event and you can see picture of it by clicking here.

What fun at last month's TGIF ("Thanks Goodness It's Fellowship!") gathering at church.  There were about 40 youth and young adults who attended this All Fellowship event.  Songs, games, devotions, and fellowships abounded that evening.  Keeping on the lookout for upcoming TGIF's.
School may be back in session, but do you call attending the inauguration of President Bush work?  Well, that's where Brian Chan and Tiffany Lee will be going as part of a group from Bishop O'Dowd High School attending a week of events in D.C.  leading up the swearing in of the new President.  Hmmm.  The furthest we ever went during high school was a trip to the zoo!

Snoops extend to everyone a very Happy Regular New Year and Happy Year of the Snake too!
