Notes For Speakers
Again, I want
to reiterate the things we tried to focus on last quarter:
·
People
are asking for more small group discussion
·
People
like activities to get to know one another
·
People
would like more time for prayer
·
People
want more intensive Bible study
·
People
want some weeks that are less serious and more fun
·
People
want to hear testimonies
·
People
want more participation in discussions and so on
This time
around we are going to try to implement a few new procedures to see if they
work. First, seeing as this time around
we are going more “hard core” into the Bible, we thought it might be a good
idea to have an opening activity, for example a question that everyone can
answer, or something else, that encourages participation and so on. These may be planned by the speaker, or
another group of helpers, but is intended to be a several minute opening
thing.
Also, I am
going to attempt to reward those people who actually do the reading with a
non-mucho grande, non-serious prize. We will have worksheets for every lesson
distributed the Friday before with simple factual questions. I will collect the answers from those who
choose to turn them in and keep tally so that at the end of the year, those who
participate can get a prize for their hard work reading. This will be independent of what the speaker
chooses to focus on for the Bible study.
Speakers are welcome to create their own question list (as it saves me
the energy of making them).
Also, the
topics above are not set in stone by any means, as are the dates. If there is a Bible story you want covered,
let me know and we will put it on the schedule.
Thanks for helping out.
