Allan's Thought's 7/8

I haven't made a post in a really long time, so I thought I'd make a post today and get some of my thoughts out.

The Friday Evening Bible Study has been extremely successful in my mind. It has brought out new people, and we've been able to learn about the Bible more than ever before. Although it is tough to occasionally lead the Bible Study lesson for the week, it definately forces you to read and learn the material. To sum it up, the best way to learn is "learning by doing."

I haven't gotten a chance to watch the High School Bible Olympics challenge, but I think it's been a huge success too. A lot of the adults have gotten to know the high schoolers, and see how dedicated they are in terms of learning the Bible. Personally, it's had an effect on me, because they are pushing me to learn the Bible more. Like Vince said today, if the high schoolers can do it, so can the rest of us. It's nice to see everyone come together.

Math Camp has been amazing. The kids were tough the first week, but they've opened up and I'm finally putting names to faces. It's hard to know everyone with 180+ students, and I will openly admit that has made me guilty. Of course, it's impossible for me to know every name, or to know everyone on a personal level, but I never want someone to be "just" a name. Some kids refuse to talk to me, and other kids I can tell want nothing to do with me. It's awesome to find a people who are willing to stop and talk to me. And today, I walked around church and Chinese school to find a whole bunch of kids from math camp that I had no idea came to CBC. I hope the kids remember me, and I hope I can remember them.

Finally, Abby gave me a high five today. It was the best high five I've ever gotten.
