Allan's Thoughts 12/24 Christmas Edition
1. Brian, Selina, and I spent the past few days making and cutting little stencil figures for the church. On Saturday we were finally able to buy some fake snow and spray paint the figures onto the church windows and glass doors. Brian also surrounded the lobby outside the high school room with colorful lights which will look great during the Christmas dinner next week.
2. Sunday was the big concert and the debut of The Maestro. I thought everything went very well. In fact, I thought the concert performance was better than any practice we had these past few weeks. Nobody wanted to sit in the first chair, so I ended up sitting there. Unfortunately, my violin playing is still awful.
3. Afterwards, there were refreshments. I enjoyed that, and I think it was important to have the church treat the many guests and parents that attended. There's nothing greater than mini-croissants.
4. As I was walking around in the yard, Brenda came up to me with a friend. They wanted to play tag with me. They ran all the way to the bleachers, where another girl wanted to play too. I could not catch any of the three girls.
5. Unfortunately, Christmas does have a downer this year. It has been reported that we are missing the mini-van. We are not sure if someone stole it during our Wednesday Bible Study when the gates were open, or if someone knows the combo and came sometime during the week to take it. If you see a mini-van with dents and a worn out exterior, please report it to the local police.
6. Christmas dinner will be held next Sunday. It is also New Years Eve. We will also finally find out what Pat's dish is, as it is still TBD.
