| The Physical Side, What A Ride! |
| Lying is not what you want to hear. This was my first tattoo, and well, it hurt. I'd even say that it hurt a lot. But the pain is not unbearable, especially if you REALLY want it. When the outline is being done is the worst. It is a needle that is consetrated on a very small area, and when your skin is first being pierced. When the shading begins, it is nothing compared to the outline, and you relax a little bit, eventhough it still hurts. The shading does begin to hurt after a while, but is more of a burning rather than a piercing pain. Ask if the parlor has something to squeeze while it is being done. Honestly, I squeezed a little stuffed thingy (technical term), and well, it's better than jerking and screwing up the tattoo itself. After all is said and done, and your tattoo is planted, they cover it in lotion and a bandage. The lotion feels great and after about 5-10 minutes, you don't even know tht the tattoo is there. You have beaten the pain and the experience, this is what makes them so addictive. With the experience of the pain, you automatically involve your endorphins and adrenaline. And immediately afterwards, you get a sort of "high" from what just happened. So you feel fine afterwards. When you take the bandage off a couple of hours later, don't be suprised if there is blood everywhere. That is what happened when I took mine off and it looked like a murder scene. Blood was dripping off, dried on, and tattooed back into my skin by the needles. Most of it comes off after you wash it the first time, but it takes a while for the "tattooed blood" to come off. I mention this part because it freaked me out at first as I was not expecting it. So I want to prepare everyone for the possibility. Let me say that this was MY experience, and everyone has a different story. Overall, the experience was incredible, unable to be compared to any other in my life. Not better necessarily, just different. My advice is that if you want to and can get one, do it, and do it wisely. Don't get something just to get something. HAPPY TATTOOING!!! |
