The Story So Far. . . Our Mommies and Daddies spent months organizing paperwork, getting it notarized, certified and authenticated before sending their dossiers to CCAI. CCAI had the dossiers translated and sent them to China at the end of April. Our Mommies and Daddies settled in for a long wait to hear who their babies would be. Then, a little over six months later, they heard that their new daughters were living in Jiangmen, Guangdong Province, China! They were so happy that the wait was almost over! After our Mommies and Daddies happily signed their acceptance letters, they excitedly waited to hear from CCAI as to when they would travel. Up until then, families with CCAI waited only 6-8 weeks until they travelled to China. They watched as other agencies' clients announced their referrals and their travel dates! When were our Mommies and Daddies coming to get us? They found out that CCAI wasn't having much luck in getting visa appointments at the American Consulate in Guangzhou. Something was wrong, so they banded together and started a letter writing campaign. They wrote their senators and representatives. They wrote the State Department and the Consulate in Guangzhou. Those letters must have done the trick because they came to get us in the middle of January, 2000! Go to the next page to see the rest of the story . . . (next page) |
