Part 62- What I Want

Jia's failure to not properly guard Hong Kong was causing a bit of disorder. Jia now had to pack everything up and leave New York and go to Hong Kong. Jun had now joined us as he was filled in on everything once he came to Jia's building. He sighed as he said,

"I can't believe Lotus remarried."

"The kid looks unstable to me." Said Akio as we joined them in the lobby.

Toki was slouching back on the sofa wearing white sweatpants with a matching shirt with a blue one underneath to match the trim on the words and number on the front of the shirt. He wore his unlaced boots as he smoked and said,

"Eh, so he's unbalanced. Ain't nothing new."

Aoki sat down as he said,

"We don't know if he's unbalanced for sure."

Jun brushed his hair back as he said,

"So...when are we going to Hong Kong?"

"Soon I'm assuming." I said.

Aya came downstairs a moment later, coat in hand as he put it on and said,

"We're leaving tonight."

"Damn that's so fast!" Said Akio.

"I know. Jia's moving quickly. We had the arrangement made already. So, say bye to whoever you got in the city and pack it up."

Toki checked his watch as he said,

"What time at night we leavin?"

"One in the morning."

"Shit that's plenty of time."

"Gonna hit up Ryuhei?" Asked Aoki

"Nah, just got time to sleep."

That night, I went home, picking up a few things I needed I knew I didn't have in Hong Kong as I brought out a small luggage bag to put those things away. I set the bag down on my bed I went to my dresser, looking over to see if I needed anything from there. As I did, I started playing with my hair, tucking it back behind my ears as I looked up at my reflection. I then gathered it back in my hands to pull it up and back when I saw my same platinum hoops. I decided I wasn't going to take those out for a very long time. Any time I attempted to, I couldn't. I stopped fighting it. As I snapped up an elastic band around a messy, loose bun at the crown of my head, my bangs falling around my face, I heard someone at the door. I picked up my gun as I walked slowly to the door and heard the knock again as I then heard Toki's voice. I put my gun down as I opened the door and saw him standing there, same outfit as before. He smirked and leaned down as he put his arms around my waist and picked me up off the floor. I gasped slightly, my eyes widening as I said,

"What are you doing?!"

"Huggin you?"

"Put me down!"

"I will one sec."

He walked inside as he closed the door behind him and then set me down as he smirked. I sighed, adjusting my shirt slightly as I said,

"What are you doing here?"

"Came to see ya. I missed ya."

"You saw me this afternoon."

"I know but I wanted to see ya alone."

He walked closer to me, putting his arms around my waist as he pulled me close and kissed my forehead as he leaned down to do so. I felt his hand creep up under my shirt as he touched my bare back while his other reached to my hair and pulled loose the band there, freeing my hair. I looked up at him as I said,

"Is this all you wanted?"

"No. But this is nice too."

I sighed, moving away as far as his arm would me as he said,

"Why you runnin from me Ghosto?"

"God, it's like your dense. You realize how much pain you put me through?"

"Haven't we been through this?"

"Not enough apparently."

I moved the rest of the way back as he sighed and said,

"We goin through this again?"

I stood a little shocked, as if what I had said to him had no effect whatsoever.

"Get out!"

"I didn't mean it like that! Ghosto, I know what I did. But you know that I'm not lyin to you. When have I eva lied to you? Name me one time an I'll leave right now."

I thought for a moment, thinking back to everything Toki ever said that could have been a lie. When it came down to it, he never did. He stood there waiting for me to respond as he then said,

"I have never lied to you Ghosto. I never kept a secret about what I was doin. And how I feel about you."

I turned away as I went to the living room, pausing for a moment before going into the kitchen. I set the kettle down on the stove as I began to make some tea. As I waited for the water to heat I heard Toki come in as he said,

"You scared of that aren't you?"

"Of what?"

"That I'm right."

I brushed my hair away from my eyes since Toki had undone it as I felt him walk up behind me. His arms came down as he said,

"Stop makin shit difficult for yourself."

"Toki...why should I be your second best if you love me so much?"

"Why you think you're second?"

"It's a little obvious."

"I don't rank anyone. I love you and I love him for different reasons."

His hand stroked my hair back as he kissed my cheek and as he whispered,

"You don't like how I do shit. And I know that...so cuz of that, you make me wanna be a better man."

I closed my eyes as I sighed. It was the sweetest thing he ever said to me. I didn't want to break in front of him. If I broke I would do it on my own. He kissed my neck as he said,

"I do love you. I neva lied about that."

The kettle began to whistle as he reached over for me and shut off the stove as he stepped back, taking me with him as he still kissed my ear and my neck. I sighed softly as I opened my eyes and said,

"You should go."

He let go slightly only to turn me around as he kissed me. I found myself putting my arms around him in return to kiss him back better.

I left everything forgotten in the kitchen as I brought Toki back to my room. It felt so familiar having Toki here with me. The scent of his skin, the feel of his mouth on mine as he touched me, undressed me slowly, stroking my hair back from my face as he left soft bite marks down the column of my throat. His blonde bangs tickled my face as he moved his head and when he looked at me, I felt it all feel the same as before. As I laid under him, my shirt now undone, Toki's first shirt already off and as he reached for the second one to remove, I realized why I could never sleep in New York.

"You haunted me."

He paused as he said,

"What?"

"It's why I can't sleep in New York. Your memory is still here."

He looked down at me as he said,

"Your way of sayin stop?"

I nodded as I sat up, moving him off me as he sat beside me and sighed and said,

"I won't force you. You know that."

He held the back of my head as he turned to kiss me once more. I felt him feeling so warm...his hands were hot, his body was burning...it was almost as if he was burning with fever but I knew he wasn't. He moved back once he let go as I saw him smirk slightly as he said,

"Your face is all flushed."

I brought my hand to my cheek as I felt heat there. I looked down as he stroked my bottom lip and said,

"I love that I can make you do that."

I looked up slightly as he met my eyes. His hand still cupped my face, as he looked at me, his lips against mine slightly as he licked my bottom lip.

"I love you."

I sighed softly as I closed my eyes and drifted into his kiss. When he moved back I opened my eyes as he got off my bed, tugging on the side of his pants as he picked up his first shirt and pulled it on, careful of his spikes as he adjusted it slightly, lifting the back up to make sure it fell down better as he then said,

"I'll see you tonight okay?"

I nodded as he came back over to me, kissed me again, his fingers winding in my hair as he then stood back up and showed himself out.

I picked myself up, adjusting my shirt slightly as I lifted up the lapel and smelled Toki's scent there. I sighed pulling my hair back as I tied it back up and went to change my shirt as I finished packing. Later that night, I arrived at JFK, meeting everyone there by the gate as Toki arrived with Jia twenty minutes before the flight. Toki had changed into dark blue jeans and a black zip up hoodie, a wife beater underneath. He looked all the younger as he stood there with his hands in his pockets, looking down at his boots as he lifted up the toe, wondering if he had scuffed them in anyway. Jia made sure we were all here. It was then he noticed Jo was still absent.

"Where's Baby?"

As we looked around, Akio about to call him, we saw him running towards the gate. He stopped in front of us as he said,

"Sorry...I apologize for being late."

Jo paused for a moment, looking down as his undone hair fell past his shoulder in a waterfall of dark red. He breathed hard for a moment since he ran like all hell and he also smokes. Jia walked over to him as he lifted up a lock of hair and eyed Jo's neck as he said,

"Busy before hand Jo?"

Jo's eyes widened slightly as he clapped his hand over his neck and said,

"Ano..."

Jia smirked slightly as he said,

"They're fresh."

Jo cleared his throat as Jia let go of his hair and said,

"Okay, we're all here. Finally."

A moment later, we were called to board the plane and we were on our way to Hong Kong. The flight, as usual was long and I slept through most of it. When we landed, we were so jet lagged and screwed up that we all parted ways to our apartments. I slept fine in Hong Kong. I had nothing there to haunt me. When I woke the next morning, Jia called us in to work so I got up, got dressed and went to his newest building. It had long since been organized and put together. Everyone brought over to work and watch it was still there and they were all very pleased to see Jia. The first thing Jia did was gather a lot of the lower heads in the lobby and said,

"Who's seen the head of the Jade syndicate?"

The lower heads looked at each other as one of them said,

"The Jade collapsed Jia-sama."

Jia nodded as he said,

"I know, but see, there's someone out there trying to pick up where Sung-Lo left off. Also he married my ex wife. His name is Takamasa Kaoru. You see him, let me know."

Jia then went up to his office as Tai took over, letting them know what Kaoru looked like, especially his distinct tattoo on his face. The lower heads then left as we continued to wait.

Later that night, Toshimasa and Xiao Tien arrived to Jia's building. The China Doll approached Jia as he said,

"I heard the Jade was back up."

"So my enemy says. But so far, not a word."

Toshimasa stood up straight as he said,

"Why is this enemy coming after you?"

"I wish I knew. He's just another one on the list I guess. Someone always wants to bring me down."

Toshimasa nodded as he said,

"We'll be looking out for the casino while we're here. You can call on us if you need assistance."

Jia smiled as he said,

"Thank you. I appreciate that."

We waited about a week when we got word Kaoru was finally seen. But by then it was too late. As we sat in the lobby, Jia came rushing downstairs as he said,

"He took over a large block of property. He shoved his way in. He bought it out."

Tai was following Jia as did Gabriel as the gaijin tucked his hair behind his ear and put on a pair of glasses as Tai said,

"We'll find out how he got over you Jia."

Jia nodded as Toki sat up and said,

"What was the land?"

"Some strip of clubs. That's not what's important, what is important is that he actually went over my head to do it. It's practically impossible to go over me."

Jia paced for a moment as a moment later, Xiao Tien and Toshimasa arrived. I noticed Xiao Tien was wearing a plush black fur coat that fell to his knees. The weather had been getting slightly colder lately. His chin length black hair fell around his face, the coat making him seem like he really was made of porcelain as he held the coat closed around him. Toshimasa stood behind him, black hair falling slightly over one eye as he looked ahead, his coat being slightly less attention getting as Xiao Tien's. Both wore suits underneath as Xiao Tien moved his head back slightly as he approached Jia and said,

"I have some news."

"I hope it's good."

"I guess. Kaoru came into the casino tonight."

"What did he want?"

"To buy me out. He asked politely and calmly. But I refused, saying the casino wasn't for sale. He seemed slightly unhappy about my response."

"I hope he doesn't think of anything insanely stupid to do."

"I hope so as well. Totchi and I can't afford to be harmed."

"I understand Toshimasa but why not you?"

Xiao Tien smiled slightly as he said,

"Look at me Jia. Could you hurt me?"

Jia laughed slightly as he said,

"I could break that pretty porcelain face if I had to."

"But you'd do it with a heavy heart."

Jia laughed again as he then regained himself and said,

"I want you two to be careful."

Toshimasa nodded as he said,

"We're trying to take as many precautions as we can. He doesn't know who I am which is a good thing."

The China Doll nodded as he said,

"Yeah Totchi was in the back at the time he just saw me. And I can handle myself. I'm former Teo Chiu remember?"

"I know that pretty face hides more then it appears to."

Xiao Tien smirked as he said,

"I'll watch Totchi. You just watch us. And we'll watch you."

Jia nodded as he then allowed them to go on their way.

The next day, late afternoon, just as the sun was setting, I slept on the lobby sofa, out of boredom, Jo on the other sofa across from me dead asleep as well. It was quiet for most of the day and it had been quiet. I was only woken up when I heard the screaming sirens of a fire truck passing by. I sat up, rubbing my eyes as I saw Jo was still dead asleep as if nothing happened. I stretched as I tucked my hair behind my ears and started getting up to go find Jun to get dinner. As I walked around the sofa, some of the lower heads rushed in as they looked at me and ran over to me as they shouted,

"The casino was blown!"
