| Link of the Week John Derbyshire, in and of National Review Online, takes stock of the situation in Communist China, and how the Bush Administration sees the so-called Peoples Republic. In this dead on piece, Derbyshire, among other things, dispels the Communist myth that Uighur Muslims in East Turkestan arguably the most pro-American Muslims on Earth are bin Ladenites. More on Communist China and the U.S. Tom Donnelly, of the Project for the American Century, provides his take on the two Washington reports warning of Communist Chinas military buildup and growing belligerence (Adobe required). The piece is in the July 29 issue of the printed version of the Weekly Standard. On the anti-terrorist crackdown in East Turkestan An indignant Xie Feng, Spokesman for Communist Chinas U.S. Embassy, rips the Washington Post for its examination, and dismissal of PRC charges of bin Ladenism in the East Turkestan independence movement (see July 17 update). Of course, Xie, like every other Communist, cites hard evidence without presenting it, and attributes to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld a comment no one else reported to hear him say. Felice Gaer, Chair of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, is much happier with the Post piece (second letter in the link cited above). On Wall Street and Communist China Frank Gaffney, head of the Center for Security Policy, hits on another though little reported corporate scandal Wall Street firms whose investments in Communist China have fueled the PRCs military buildup and encouraged its aggressive behavior in the Washington Times. On the Falun Gong War CNN gives this brief history of the spiritual movement and the Communist crackdown against it. U.S. lists eight PRC companies sanctioned for selling arms and chemical/biological weapons components to Iran. Check out the story on the Communist China and the Terrorist War page. Sign up for the North Korea Report; the next issue comes out on Monday. Theres still time to contact the President and tell him not to appoint pro-PRC Doug Paal as de facto ambassador to Taiwan.
