From The New Republic, Lawrence Kaplan reveals why increased trade will not bring political reform to Communist China. It is a long piece, one that discusses and refutes every single argument made by the soft-line �engagement� crowd. An excellent read.

On the Beijing Olympics of 2008
Tony Blankley, Washington Times, examines the parallels between the 1936 Berlin Games and the 2008 Beijing Games.

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES KEEPS NTR FOR COMMUNIST CHINA
By a vote of 259-169, the House of Representatives voted against suspending Normal Trade Relations with Communist China, despite the Hainan outrage, arrests of Americans, and horrific abuses of human rights by the People�s Republic of China.
