An unbylined BBC story profiles
Wang Bingzhang, arrested while meeting Chinese labor dissidents in Vietnam last summer.  A veteran of the dissident movement for over thirty-five years, Wang was jailed twice during the Cultural Revolution.  After leaving the PRC in the 1970, Wang has refused to take (U.S.) citizenship himself, arguing that it is easier to fight for democracy in China as a Chinese citizen.

Wang made a dramatic show of his determination in 1998, when he went back into the PRC to help found the China Democracy Party.  This past summer, he was in Vietnam meeting with Chinese labor dissidents when he disappeared.
