| Miss an Update, Weekly Links, or a North Korea Report? Find it on our web site. Link of the Week Willy Wo-Lap Lam (CNN) looks at how Jiang Zemin managed to bump Li Ruihuan the only leading player in Communist China who would not praise the outgoing PRC President to the skies off the Politburo Standing Committee and stack it with his protgs. More on Todays Reshuffle John Pomfret, Washington Post, looks at Communist China as Jiang is leaving the scene. Overall, the piece is very weak. Pomfret doesnt even care to mention that Jiang, far from leaving the scene will still be Chairman of the very powerful Central Military Commission. CNN and Tim Luard (BBC) have their own examinations of the reshuffle conference. None of them seem as informed as Lam (see last update). On Hu Jintao Damien McElroy (London Daily Telegraph) gives his profile of Hu Jintao, the new Communist Party chief, in a party whose apparatus is still largely under Jiang Zemins control. Tim Luard (BBC) also weighs in. On Communist China and the United States Myles Kantor, in Newsmax.com, expresses frustration at the bipolar Bush Administration policy, in particular why it seems to be so nice to Communist China and its leader, Bushs Crawford guest Jiang Zemin. On the Global Internet Freedom Act Luciana Lopez, Washington Times, hears from some supporters and critics of the bill that would help fight dictatorships that block the internet from their own people, such as Communist Chinas Great Red Firewall. Check out the latest on Communist China and the Terrorist War.
