Beijing - Xi'An - HuangShan en route Nanjing & Tunxi QianDaoHu HangZhou - Shanghai - SuZhou

The Bund, Shanghai
SHANGHAI, Day 1::Acres and acres of golden and green rice paddy fields lined the road to Shanghai. We first visited Jade Buddha Temple that houses 2 jade buddhas. By this time, all temples look alike to me. After lunch, we were driven to the Bund (ShangHaiTan). It is amazing - classical foreign architecture at one side of HuangPu River, across the River is the fledging PuDong commercial, XuJiaHui shopping and LuJiaJui finance centres. We visited YuYuan (or ChenWangMiao Temple) before dinner. YuYuan was a private garden. The area outside YuYuan is crowded with temple-styled shopping plazas, whereas small ChenWangMiao Temple tucks away in a corner.
