Ghostbusters. Not much i can say that you don't already know.
It's hilarious, its entertaining, its a part of all of our childhoods.
We all know that Ray, Egon, and Peter are chronic cigarette smokers, as is the newer addition to the GB clan, winston. I hope i'm not alone in wondering quite often if winston's smoking wasn't more peer-pressure related than anything else.
lets examine the facts;
Every cigarette winston smokes is given to him by a fellow ghostbuster.
His NAME is WINSTON!! not sure if that's case-strengthening, but still related to my point.
He only has "a few" cigarettes throughout the adventures.
He blows the smoke almost exclusively out of his nose, a very "amateurish" smoker's trick.
Winston Joined the ghostbusters late, so it was of the utmost importance that he was accepted into the flock from the get go. As a smoker myself, i can attest to the fact that the majority of my friends are in fact, cigarette smokers. Not saying that if they suddenly quit that i wouldnt be their friend anymore........ yet. He clearly didnt know what he was getting into when he joined the ragtag group of oversexed thirty somethings, as shown by his willingness to do anything required to get paid. I'm sure he expected to be a rank-and-file member, not plunged immediately into the potential elimination of mankind as we know it. Gozer on the rooftop, MR. STA-PUFT?? Do these sound like the usual "first-day" activities? Of course not.
Winston, overwhelmed by the combination of being the new guy, and having to save manhattan from destruction by a 200 foot tall marshmallow beast, turned to nicotine to suppliment his freaking out brain, and get in good with the boys.
