Background:

Isis grew up in a rather plain looking two story house, just on the outskirts of the village Rivendell. She lived there w/her family till she was 14. During those years, she'd learned how to use a sword, crossbow, and hand to hand combat, from her brothers and father, while her mother taught her how to sew, cook, mend wounds, white light heal, and how to put up three men w/out killing them. By the time she'd reached the age of 12, she was able to beat her brothers at pretty much everything.

But none of that mattered on the fateful day the rock trolls attacked the village of Rivendell. Now, while most trolls are pretty stupid, these had been trained by a skilled warrior, who knew how to work past their lack of brains, enhancing their brute strength, even taught them how to use bows and arrows, swords, melee weapons. Isis had been out, helping her brothers chop and bring in wood for the stove and fireplace, when her father got news of the attack on the village. Immediately they all dropped what they were doing. Ailith ran outside, and told Isis to hide somewhere safe. Being only 14, she was still considered a child, so with a heavy heart, she did as she was told, and went to hide up a hill a ways, behind an outcropping of some rather large boulders. Staying down, she still had a bird's eye view of her home and family.

In the distance, she saw four large objects lumbering their way to her home, so she quickly whistled, giving the signal for her parents and brothers to get ready to fight. And a valiant fight it was. One troll had a bow/arrows, one had a sword, one had a club, and the last had a mace.

Watching the battle, she couldn't believe her eyes as one by one, her brothers and parents were struck down. Gareth had been slashed through the heart by the sword wielding troll. Cavan, spinning to face it, was shot through the chest w/an arrow, then bludgeoned w/the club wielding troll. Ailith and Finnian managed to kill one w/the sword, and the one w/the mace, but an arrow was fired. Isis had ducked back down after firing the bolt at the troll, who caught it out of the air, jabbing it through Finnian's heart before he could block the fatal blow. Ailith, devastated and filled w/rage, spun, slashing her sword the club wielding troll, but another arrow was fired, it piercing a lung in her chest. Isis watched from her perch behind the boulders in utter horror as her mother fell, dropping her sword. The young terrified girl clutched a hand to her mouth to stop the scream.

Moments later, the remaining troll left to torment the next village. Isis quickly made her way down to her family. There was no hope. Both her brothers had died quickly, just staring blankly into space. She leaned over, closing their eyes, then moved to her father, who was laying next to his wife, face down in the dirt, looking more like he was sleeping than dead. The only sign was the blood pouring from his chest. Wiping burning tears from her eyes, she knelt next to her mother, taking her in her arms. "Please stay momma. Please don't leave me here alone."

Her mother just smiled up at Isis, smiled, coughing up a bit of blood, managed to rasp out, "Isis, my darling daughter, my pride and joy, your destiny lies along a different path. Go, seek it out. Do not dispair my child. You are destined for great things. Y-you must... must find your grandmother. *coughs* T-treasure your memories. N-never... give up hope. I-I will be with you, always. I love you." With that said, Ailith's eyes closed forever.

For a long time, Isis just sat there, stunned, sobbing over her mother's body, not wanting to let go. Finally, she built up enough inner strength to bury her brother's and father. Before covering her mother with the dirt she had piled up from digging the hole, she broke her locket in half, placing it in her mother's hand. After that work was done, the meager headstones made, she went into the house, packed her few belongings, and set out on her own.

6 years later, she happened upon the Black Heart Tavern. There she met Togurth Dalant, Anakin Adelhmson, Steven Parks, Izzika the firesprite, and Mason Kitch. They had a few adventures while staying at the tavern, fighting mages and soldiers, trolls and orcs. Even found her grandmother, queen of the fairies near her old village. Then going to find her new friends to save another fairy village, after not being able to save her own. After that, they were ready to go to Itara, where their new adventures began, and where Isis would come to understand her mother's last words.

RP:

Isis was murdered by Tochravanthis when the group went to rescue Fionna McCae (a scholar from Yitan) from the castle in Serillia. Every one of her friends felt her death, but it affected Mason and Anakin the most. For nearly one month, she dwelt in the realm of the dead for people of her kind--the fae--until the day of the End of Darkness. Her friends never lost hope in bringing her back to them and upheld that promise with the defeat of Tochravanthis, the Krai'ta'or. Because Isis was still among the dead, her spirit was able to keep Mason's from falling into the vortex that swallowed Tochravanthis, thus sending his darkness to the nether world of Noltach. As Mason had not yet recovered from the battle, Togurth Dalant used a great deal of his power to heal her broken neck and return her rouge spirit to her body. Talk about your out of body experience.

Update: She has recently become engaged to Mason Kitch, and wears his ring on a silver chain around her neck. Four weeks after the death of Tochravanthis, she and Mason were wed in the traditional style of the P'nai--a ceremony not practiced for decades.
