INJURIES HIT CHEETAHS

Chiltern Cheetahs 0 Norwich Devils 47 (h/t 0-33)

Chiltern's luck is not getting better as in this encounter with the Devils from Norwich saw them losing 4 key players to injury late in the third quarter meaning they had to call the game with Norwich in a comfortable lead.

Chilterns Defence started this game trying to improve on last weeks lacklustre performance and were well fired up. The opening exchanges saw some good penetration by the D line with only the final tackle missing. This enabled Norwich to move the ball to gain valuable first downs, their first drive culminating with a 1yd dive by Playford. The first quarter scoring was completed when Shaun Norris grabbed his first of three touchdowns with a 9yd grab.

The second quarter started with Chiltern in possession and they were moving the ball well, a 5yd grab by Whybrow, steady running from Miah, setting up Scroggins, but on his carry he fumbled the ball, which was recovered by Norwich. On their first play Norris grabbed a 19 yarder for his second T.D. Chiltern went 3 and out on their next possession and Norwich took the opportunity to find Norris again this time from 22 yards. With time running down in the first half Norwich had time for one more score, this time Scott bagged a 4yd catch to go in with a commanding 33-0 half time lead.

In the second half Norwich carried on from where they left off in the first with Scott getting his second score with a 7yd catch. Playford completed the rout getting his second on a 17 yard scamper.

By now injuries were beginning to tell on the Cheetahs small squad and head coach Len Scott decided to avoid any more, it would be best to call the game.
