Plymouth Admirals 14 Chiltern Cheetahs 31
Chiltern welcomed Plymouth to Amersham on Sunday for the return fixture of two weeks ago, looking to improve their play-off chances. Plymouth kicked off to give Chiltern the ball who moved it successfully both through the air & on the ground, which resulted with an Andy Cochrane 3yd T.D. run. Chilterns defence forced Plymouth to go 3 & out on their first possession. On Chiltern's 2nd play of their next drive Q.B. Rob Suttling was intercepted by Andy Willcock who returned it for a touchdown, the extra point kick was good (6-7)
Chiltern re-took the lead on their next possession, when, after good work Leigh Potkin nailed a 35yd Feild Goal (9-7) Coming to the end of the 1st Qtr. Chiltern extended their lead further when Andy Cochrane ran in his 2nd short yardage T.D. and Kris Stephens ran in the 2 point P.A.T. (17-7)
The second Qtr. saw Plymouth coming closest to scoring, but after a long drive Chiltern's Ian Calderbank intercepted Mark Tanner at the 5yd line (h/t 17-7) The second half opened with Plymouth driving the ball but coming up short on a 4th & goal giving the Cheetahs the ball who were unable to capitalise and forced to punt. Plymouth's offence carried on where they had left off on their previous drive, this time scoring on a short run by Andy Webber, the P.A.T. was good (17-14) With both teams aiming to score next the deadlock was finally broken in the 4th Qtr when Andy Cochrane completed his hat trick of T.D.'s with a 6yd run (23-14)
The victory was sealed late in the 4th Qtr. when Kris Stephens ran in a 35yd T.D. and iced it completing the 2pt P.A.T. giving him 120yds rushing on the day. (31-14)
