Chiltern travelled the short distance to face old rivals Herts at their new home of Hertford Rugby Club. Herts kicked off and both teams moved the ball well but without troubling the scoreboard. Near the end of the first quarter Herts had the first opportunity to put points on the board with a field goal, the attempt was good, but Herts took a Chiltern penalty giving them a first down, stalwart defence by Chiltern forced Herts to try another field goal which was unsuccessful.
The deadlock was finally broken just before halftime when Chilterns Andy Cochrane powered in from 8yds.
The second half saw Chiltern increase their lead with another Cochrane touchdown with Stewart May adding the 2pt PAT (0-14).
Herts finally got on to the scoreboard at the start of the 4th Qtr. when former Cheetah Nick Tilbury sneaked in from 1yd (6-14). this acted as a wake up call and Chiltern responded on their next drive with good running from both Kris Stephens & Andy Cochrane with the latter completing his hat--trick of touchdowns to make the score 6-20.
With the clock running down Herts Jon Reagan run in their 2nd touchdown the extra point attempt failed (12-20).
Herts then tried an on-side kick which fell straight into the hands of Chilterns Giles Stevenson, Chiltern ran out the clock to give them their first win of the season.
